Aluminum Grade We Machine

CNC-machined aluminum products can be made from various grades, each with unique properties and applications. Some common aluminum grades for CNC machining include:

Alu 6061

This is a versatile and widely used aluminum alloy, offering a good balance of strength, weldability, and corrosion resistance. It is commonly used for structural components, automotive parts, and aerospace applications.

Alu 5083

This grade has excellent corrosion resistance, making it suitable for marine applications, such as shipbuilding and offshore equipment.

Alu 7075

Known for its high strength-to-weight ratio, 7075 aluminum is ideal for applications requiring high strength and light weight, such as aircraft and aerospace components, bicycle frames, and sports equipment.

Alu 5052

With good formability and corrosion resistance, 5052 aluminum is often used in sheet metal fabrication, automotive components, and marine applications.

Alu 6082

Similar to 6061, this grade offers a good balance of strength, weldability, and corrosion resistance. It is commonly used in Europe and has applications in structural components and automotive parts.

Alu 2024

It has excellent fatigue resistance and is often used in aerospace applications, such as aircraft structures and parts that require high strength and durability.

These are just a few examples of the many aluminum grades available for CNC machining. Depending on your specific project requirements, other grades may be more suitable. It's essential to consult with a CNC machining expert to determine the best aluminum grade for your project.

Surface Finishes of Aluminum Parts

There are several surface treatment options for aluminum products, each providing unique characteristics and benefits. Some common surface treatments include:

Anodizing

Anodizing

An electrochemical process that forms a durable, corrosion-resistant oxide layer on the aluminum surface. Anodized aluminum parts can have a variety of colors and finishes, including matte, glossy, and metallic.

Powder Coating aluminum parts

Powder Coating

A dry finishing process that involves applying a protective and decorative layer of colored powder to the aluminum surface. The powder is then baked, creating a smooth and uniform coating that is resistant to chipping, scratching, and fading.

Sandblasting aluminum part

Sandblasting

A process that involves blasting the aluminum surface with abrasive particles to create a smooth, uniform, matte finish. This can be used for aesthetic purposes or as a pre-treatment before other surface treatments, such as anodizing or painting.

Electroplated aluminum parts

Electroplating

A process in which a thin layer of another metal, such as chrome, nickel, or gold, is deposited onto the aluminum surface. This provides improved corrosion resistance, enhanced appearance, and increased surface hardness.

Painting-metal surface finishing

Painting

Applying a liquid paint to the aluminum surface for protection and decoration. This can include various techniques like spray painting, brushing, or dipping. Painted finishes can offer a wide range of colors and textures.

polished aluminum part

Polishing

A mechanical process that uses abrasive materials to remove surface imperfections and create a smooth, shiny finish on the aluminum product.
