What is Plastic Injection molding ?
Plastic injection molding is a method to obtain molded products by mixing completely molten plastic material by a screw at a certain temperature, injecting it into a metal mold cavity with high pressure, and curing it by cooling. Metal molds are usually made of steel or aluminum.
This method is suitable for the mass production of complex-shaped parts and is one of the important processing methods. There are six main stages: mold closing, injection, pressure-holding, cooling, mold opening, and product removal.
The advantages of the injection molding method are fast production speed, high efficiency, automation of operation, variety of colors, simple to complex shapes, large to small sizes, and accurate product sizes, easy to update products, and the ability to become complex-shaped parts, injection molding is suitable for mass production and complex-shaped products and other molding processing fields.

The injection molding process refers to the process of making semi-finished parts of certain shapes from molten raw materials by pressurizing, injecting, cooling, and detaching.
The plastic injection molding process mainly includes mold closing - filling - holding pressure - cooling - mold opening -Demolding. These six stages directly determine the quality of the product, and these six stages are a complete and continuous process. In the following, we focus on the four stages of filling, holding pressure, cooling and demolding.
The time is counted from the time the mold is closed to start injection until the mold cavity is filled to approximately 95%. Theoretically, the shorter the filling time, the higher the molding efficiency.
The role of the holding phase is to continuously apply pressure to compact the melt and increase the density of the plastic (densification) to compensate for the shrinkage behavior of the plastic.
The design of the cooling system is very important, this is because the molded plastic products can only be cooled and cured to a certain rigidity, after demolding to avoid deformation of the plastic products due to external forces.
There are two main ways of demolding: top bar demolding and stripping plate demolding. When designing the mold, we should choose the appropriate release method according to the structural characteristics of the product to ensure quality of the product.
